About our rides

Melanin Base Miles (“MBM”) hosts a monthly community gravel ride on the first Saturday of each month during the spring, summer, and autumn months. We pause rides during the winter months.

Our monthly community gravel ride rotates between start locations in The Plains, VA/Loudoun County (mixed surface with rolling hills), Poolesville, MD/Montgomery County (mixed surface with rolling hills), and Cockeysville, MD/Baltimore County (gravel rail trail). The ride schedule can be found here.

MBM community gravel rides are open to adult gravel cyclists with a focus on celebrating riders who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or other people of color (BIPOC).
