About Club Melanin Base Miles

New for 2026, Club Melanin Base Miles (“Club MBM” or “the club”) is an extension of our non-profit and supports its mission by celebrating diversity and expanding riding opportunities for melanated riders.

Club MBM is a membership-based club that is open to adult gravel cyclists of all racial backgrounds, genders, and experience levels. 

The club is completely run by volunteers with full-time jobs. Our club strives to provide riding opportunities that appeal to a wide range of cycling skill and experience, however, because we are a young organization with a small team and budget, not every ride is suitable for beginner cyclists.

MBM community gravel rides and MBM events are offered at low or no cost to the participant. 

To join Club Melanin Base Miles, you must complete a membership application and pay a $40 annual membership fee. 

Club MBM members receive access to monthly community gravel rides and receive priority access to MBM events. Rides and events are focused on gravel cycling, but there are also opportunities to ride mountain bikes and bikepack, and our club hosts off-bike activities to camp, swim, hike, and eat.

MBM Club members receive access to a members-only Slack channel and have multiple yearly opportunities to purchase an MBM-branded cycling kit at a discount from Pactimo, an MBM partner.
